I’ve had a lot of people ask me if we’re still planning on adopting, and I’ve had even more people assume that the adoption is now off.
What?? Don’t you think I can handle 3 kids?!?!? J Okay, maybe not all at once.
But yes, the adoption is still on.
We don’t have any plans to stop our adoption from Ethiopia: it is going ahead as planned. Yes, the process will be put on hold while we adapt to life with the twins, but our forms will be reactivated in the near future.
One of our questions when we signed up for the adoption (in March 2008) was whether or not we would be able to put the process on hold, as opposed to cancelling it, if I got pregnant. We were assured that we could just put the adoption on hold, and so that is what we’ve done.
Mark and I have invested over two years of our lives into our adoption. We’ve invested a lot emotionally, mentally and financially and we believe that somewhere on the other side of the world, there is a child who is meant to be a part of our family.
So barring any unforeseen circumstances, we will be a family of 5 soon enough! J
