Sometimes the stars align and amazing things happen. A moment so fleeting you have to document it to remember that it really did happen. Sometimes… you and your six year old daughter agree on something.

This doesn’t happen often so I want to give credit where credit is due: thank you Peekaboo Beans.

I told my six year old twins to pick out some clothes for our recent trip to Kauai. I gave them some guidelines (five pairs of shorts, two pairs of pants, six t-shirts, etc), but they were in charge of which clothes to pick out.

And this is what they came up with:

For the first time ever, I didn’t have to go through my daughter’s pile and fight with her about her choices. Quite often she likes to pick the most obscure items in her closet to pack on a trip: a shirt she complains is too itchy, a dress with a zipper that sticks, a pair of pants that bag out. Then it’s a fight when I point out that she never wears these clothes at home. And if I let her pack those clothes to avoid the confrontation, she complains she has nothing to wear when we get to our destination.

And this trip I didn’t have to deal with any of that! Because she, and her brother, loaded their suitcases with Beans.

So again… thank you Peekaboo Beans. Thank you for being something that my daughter and I agree on.
