I look at her

and I see me.

Not necessarily

her nose or her chin

or her lips or her  smile.

It’s her eyes.

In her eyes

I see me.

I see her excitement

and her happiness

and her frustration

and her sadness.

And I feel

my excitement

and my happiness

and my frustration

and my sadness.

I feel me.

When I look in the mirror

I see my reflection.

When I look at her

I see me.
