I’m not sure how exactly you *plan* for your radio I’m not sure how exactly you *plan* for your radio station shutting down… but here I am. 1130 NewsRadio ceased to exist almost a week ago now. It was jarring. And surprising. And gut-wrenching. And definitely not something I planned for. Last week was for deep breaths and finding my footing. This week is for exploration and discovery (and let’s be honest— a few more deep breaths). So as I wade into the waters of the great unknown, please feel free to pass along any interesting opportunities that you come across. Even if you don’t think I’m a good fit! I know many fabulous, wonderful and extremely talented people who are wading into the great unknown along with me and I’d love to introduce them to anyone who could help them find their footing. If you were to judge a work place by its employees alone, the 1130 NewsRadio was at the top of the pyramid. I will eternally be grateful for the mentorship, encouragement, laughter, and, most importantly, friendships. So to the incredible 1130 crew— time to start *planning* for what’s next. I know you’re all going to amaze me.

Amy Beeman is a published children's book author who is constantly on a quest to better herself. She’s also a wife, and a mom of 3 (twins and adoption). Between marriage, children and work, she still somehow finds time to run a couple half marathons every year. She loves exploring Vancouver with her family and writing about her experiences.
